Double Glazed Windows Sydney — Without The Showroom Markup

Ask any window supplier in Sydney for a quote and you will get a number that has been through three or four hands before it reaches you: the manufacturer, the wholesaler, the showroom, and then the salesperson who has to earn their commission. We skip most of that chain.

What is left is the thing that actually matters — a well-made, thermally broken aluminium frame, a sealed double glazed unit, and a sensible price. Our stock sits in our Bankstown warehouse and you are welcome to come and look at it.

  • 100mm and 55mm aluminium frames — choose the depth that suits your opening and budget.
  • Stainless steel mesh flyscreens standard on most double glazed sliding and awning windows.
  • Low-E glass with argon fill available in Monument and white.
  • Single glazed options too where a budget project does not need double glazing.

Double Glazing Sydney — What You Actually Get

Four components do all the work. This is what separates a real double glazed window from a single pane with a second sheet of glass glued behind it.

Thermally Broken Frame

The frame itself is insulated, so heat cannot bridge through the aluminium. This is the part most cheap quotes skip, and it is a large part of the performance difference.

Two Panes, Sealed Cavity

Two panes separated by a sealed gap. The cavity holds still air or argon, which resists heat transfer far better than glass alone.

Low-E Coating

A microscopically thin metallic coating on the glass that reflects infrared heat while still letting daylight through. Available on our Low-E argon range.

Stainless Steel Mesh

Security mesh screens fitted as standard on most double glazed sliding and awning windows — insect protection that does not rust or sag.

The Four Ranges We Hold In Stock

Pick the configuration that fits the opening.

Sliding Windows

The workhorse of the range. Two panels that slide, giving you a wide opening without taking up swing space. 20 double glazed sizes in stock.

Awning Windows

Hinged at the top and opens out from the bottom. The most secure openable window we sell and the best choice for a bathroom, laundry or anywhere you want airflow without a security risk.

Fixed Windows

No opening mechanism at all, which means no gap to leak through and no hardware to fail. The cheapest way to add double glazing to a wall.

Sliding Doors

Double glazed sliding doors for patios, alfresco areas and internal openings. Available as sliding, stacking and hinge configurations.

Sydney Climate

What Double Glazing Actually Saves You In Sydney

Sydney's climate is hard on windows. A west-facing room in January can sit well above 30°C in the afternoon, and a poorly insulated glass wall is where that heat comes in. In winter, the heat you paid for leaks straight out through the same glass.

  • Summer. A double glazed unit with a thermally broken frame typically cuts heat gain through the opening by roughly half compared to a standard single glazed window.
  • Winter. The same thermal break works in reverse. Heating runs less, so the system works less, and the running cost comes down with it.
  • Acoustics. This is where the upgrade often surprises people most. Traffic, planes and street noise drop away behind two panes.
  • Condensation. A properly sealed double glazed unit resists the winter condensation that plagues single glazing in Sydney bedrooms.

Double Glazing Sydney — Common Questions

Everything buyers ask before they order.

A double glazed window has two panes of glass separated by a sealed cavity and a spacer bar. The trapped air or argon in that cavity acts as an insulator, slowing heat transfer in both directions. The frame is usually a thermally broken aluminium section, which is what makes the whole assembly perform — a single pane of good glass in a poor frame will not perform like a properly built double glazed unit.
It depends on frame depth, glass specification and size. Our published list runs from around $280 for a 600H × 1800W double glazed fixed window up to $2,450 for a large double glazed stacking door. Because we sell direct from the factory outlet, those prices are ex GST with no dealer margin added on top. See the full price guide for every size we hold.
Substantially quieter, and this is one of the biggest reasons Sydney homeowners upgrade. Two panes with a sealed cavity break up the sound path that a single pane offers. On a main road, near a train line or under the flight path, the difference is dramatic and often the first thing visitors comment on.
For in-stock standard sizes, it is typically the same day to 24 hours anywhere in metropolitan Sydney. Custom or non-standard sizes take a little longer — call us with your dimensions and we will give you a real date rather than a vague one.
Yes. We can supply only for DIY and trade installs, or arrange installation through our installer network. Whichever you need, we will be clear about what is included in the price before anything is ordered.
They are increasingly standard on rental properties in Sydney, both because they meet energy requirements and because tenants value the quiet. If you are holding a property for a granny flat or a rental, the comfort improvement usually justifies itself on tenant retention alone.
